What do I need to know to book an accommodated test/exam?
Answer
In order to access testing accommodations, you must be a registered student with Accessibility Services by having completed an intake appointment with an Accessibility Advisor.
If you are enrolled in a credit program:
- You must book your test a minimum of 5 days in advance of your test on ClockWork.
- Prior to booking, speak with your instructor regarding the format and length of the test, permitted materials and supervision requirements for your test/exam.
- Once you have booked your accommodated exam:
- Check your email that you used to register with NWP on a regular basis as this is how Accessibility Services will communicate with students should there be any questions.
- Confirm your test writing location by checking "My Calendar" in ClockWork.
If you are enrolled in an apprenticeship program :
- You must book your accommodated test request by noon 3 days in advance of your test using our online form. For example, if you test is on September 5, we need to have received the test request by 12pm noon on September 2.
- Prior to booking, speak with your instructor regarding the format and length of the test, permitted materials and supervision requirements for your test/exam.
- Check your email on a regular basis as this is how we will communicate to ask questions as well as advise you on the location of your test/exam.
Test and exam accommodation coordination requires many steps and communication that cannot always be completed last minute. If you do not provide the required notice, you will be expected to write with your class without accommodations.
